We are the member organization for the U.S. state regulators of physical therapy
Our mission is to protect the public by providing service and leadership that promote safe and competent physical therapy practice.
We develop the National Physical Therapy Exam
We develop the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for the initial licensure of U.S. physical therapists and physical therapist assistants.
We promote continuing competence
A license to practice should mean the practitioner is competent. We’re committed to developing resources, tools and a system for maintaining and tracking continuing competence on a personal and state level. This system is called aPTitude.
